Hi everyone! Exciting news to share - to celebrate the new release of Meg’s Garden's papers,
designed by Denise Ann,
this month Meg’s Garden's Design Team are
special guests over at ONCE UPON A ...SKETCH, for the month of February!
So that means, as part of Meg's Garden's DT,
I had the opportunity to create a layout based on the sketch and theme for this month!
So the challenge this month at OUAS is this;
"The month of February is the month we celebrate St Valentine's Day here in Australia and in many parts of the world. Love takes on many forms..relationship love, parental love etc etc. So let's think about what the above quote can mean and how you can interpret it on a layout. You are free to scrap about any kind of love you wish however you like based on the following sketch.
Ideas for journalling: love for your partner, family , parents ,siblings , children, work, students, craft, music, extra curricular activities. Whatever it is that you connect LOVE with.
Your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below.
Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . You are allowed to journal in any language but please tell us where on your page we will find your journalling. Remember journalling has to be a bit more than a title, or a generic comment. Hidden journalling is perfectly fine."
And here is my take on the challenge, "Apple of my Eye"...
Meg's Garden Materials List:
"Apple Blossom" & "A Summer's Day" papers from "Ode to a Summer's Day Collection",
"Laces in Cream" paper from "A Touch of Lace",
LaBlanche script stamp,
Tim Holtz mini paperclips,
Paper lace doiley strips...
ALL available at the Meg's Garden store HERE.
I have done my own "10 Things I Love About You" list about Heidi right now. Lots of cute & everyday things that I just adore. I have printed my journalling onto "Laces in Cream" paper from the "A Touch of Lace" collection and simply cut them into strips to suit my layout, so as to not to detract from the photograph at first glance. :)
I have fussy cut those gorgeous apples and leaves from the stunning "Apple Blossom" paper, which is from the "Ode to a Summer's Day Collection"... they really do look good enough to eat!!!
I can't get enough of those paper lace doily strips... the ones on this particular layout have been given a bit of a "haircut". ;) And I love stamping on the ivory grosgrain ribbon... this ribbon is particularly ideal for this purpose! I have used the stamped ribbon as a frame around my photo and machine stitched it into place.
I have also used Flourish with a Bling's Jack's Vine in Green and Black here on my layout - I think it ties in really well with the fussy-cut apples and leaves.
I hope you can join in the fun this month at OUAS!!! :)
Cheers & TFL!
