Magna Doodling Art! :)

Hi there! I created this layout using January's sketch at My Creative Sketches.

I just loved this sketch, it was perfect for this pic that I took last year of my daughter's Magna Doodling artwork!

I think this crocodile is amazing for a three year old! :)

I've used Echo Park's new line "Yours Truly" here. Love those bold patterns! :)

And I've used lots of Purple Pumpkin goodies too...

The PP Felt Flower (which I altered with a green popstick and sequin leaf), red and white Spotty Dotty Button (which I squished on top of a wooden flower button - also from PP), those rose cabochons are so gorgeous - I got them in my Girls Lucky Dip bag... I love them! And also the grey and white twine is from Purple Pumpkin.

Fantaztic Mr. Fox! & some sneaks!!!

Hi there!

Here's my latest layout for The Colour Room's latest colour palette...

Here I've used paint, gesso and vintage Disney book paper to create a unique backdrop on my layout. I've masked a border around the outer edges of my layout using OA's Sprinkler Spray in "Tinsel", and machine stitched my (almost paper mache) backdrop onto this. I cute out some cute material with pinking shears and I've used some die-cut borders, decorative edge scissors, tags, transparencies and other fun stuff too.

I used up an old packet of sunflower stickers that was recently given to me, I funked them up a bit with buttons and bling. They came up a treat! ;)

I've got some yummy Purple Pumpkin goodies on here too...

The twine bow, vinyl heart and XL Spotty Dotty button! :D

I've finally scrapped a pic of me at Tokyo Disneyland too - which I'm stoked about! Basically the journalling is about how this Fox from the Disney movie "Pinocchio" was having his picture taken with lots of people in standard form (standing next to them) and then when it came to my turn... he danced with me! LOL! And my friend managed to get this shot, which I love! :)

Now for some Purple Pumpkin sneaks... The sale starts TONIGHT!!! (7pm Brisbane time!)

New Scrapbookit Challenges For You!

Hi everyone! It's time for Scrapbookit's monthly challenge reveal! I think you'll all love these two!

So! For the Layout Challenge you must follow this criteria.

Layout Theme :- "Looking Forward, Looking Back" ( You must use these words somewhere on your layout).
Non traditional shaped layout.
Must have :- Buttons, Ribbon, and at least 1 other embellishment.

Quote for Inspiration :- (You may or may not choose to use this on your layout) "I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination." (James Dean).

This month I was thrilled to work with the gorgeously pretty "Ruby Violet" line by Prima! Wow, hey! I'm very lucky!

So here is my layout, "Looking Back..."

Yes, that's me in the pics! :)

So I've used the words "Looking back" & Looking forward" in my title and journalling. CHECK!

I have a non-traditional shaped layout - I've outlined and cut around the "Ditzyfloral" patterned paper - you can check it out in store here. CHECK!

I've got buttons, ribbons and flowers too (flowers being my "other embellishment") - so CHECK CHECKITY CHECK! ;)

The tones of this paper are so lovely - just look at this closie...

And how about those flowers! Stunning hey?! They are Kaisercraft's "Paper Blooms" in Amethyst. I even liked the back of them so that's why I've got one upside down. I think it looks cute!

I just adored using Green Tara's Satin Leafed Garland in Hot Pink on my layout. I simply stapled it into place - it made a really lovely embellishment!

And now for the Card Challenge.

Here's the criteria...

Non Traditional shaped card
Must use: * At least 2 parts of 2 patterned papers, Plus *Paint, *Masking tape, and *Flowers.

And here's my card!

I've used Core'dinations Cardstock in White as my card base (so I've just folded a full 12" x 12" sheet in half), and then I've stamped Prima's Ruby Violet Stamps #1 in a tree-like shape on the front. In this awesome set of stamps, you get four tree branch stamps (two with birds on top!) and I've "built" my tree by using a combination of these stamps and also the three other stamps in the pack, which are different sized flowers. So I've used the whole pack of stamps on this card to make my tree card!

Then I've doodled around my tree, used masking tape as my trunk and then cut out some shapes that I've drawn (eg: the grass) and I've fussy-cut some uber cute flora and fauna from Prima's Ruby Violet patterned papers. Using up alot of my scraps from my layout! :)

I've painted some of the little details on the stamped images with Kaisercraft's Deep Yellow Acrylic Paint. My favourite paint colour at the moment! :D

The last step was simply cutting around the doodled outline at the top, leaving the left folded edge, the base and part of the right side intact.

All the criteria... covered! Great criteria it is, too - don't you think?

Here's a closie so you can see my card's "3Dness" - you see it without the glasses! LOL!

Waiting & Waiting! ;)

I loved this week's TCR palette. They reminded me of the modern take on the traditional Christmas colours and I'm bursting to scrap some more Christmassy pics. These pics are of my daughter's experience in having to wait in line for such a long time for a toddler (just over one and half hours) to see Santa. It was well worth the wait of course and they had such a lovely time on all the rides inside the magic cave. The wait was better than the year before though... 2 hours! LOL! :)

Here's my layout, "Waiting & Waiting"...

I've used OA's new line "Holiday Style" here along with their green sprinkler spray. I've used some numbers for the "countdown" theme. I also used the negative sheet as a mask.

I've used lots of Purple Pumpkin handmade goodies on here too...

Check out that gorgeous PP felt flower (albeit cut up) - I love those bright pinks! And so funky too!

Peekaboo! There's the rest of it! I've also got PP doilies and doiley trims (all cut up too - LOL). And of course a PP Spotty Dotty button - the perfect finishing touch, I say! :)

This layout was a joy to make! The Christmas spirit is still going! For me anyway!!

Get Picky's January Sketch Challenge! :)

Hello! Get Picky has just revealed their very first sketch challenge of the new year.

Here is my example layout...

It's called "You Put the Bounce in my Day".

Here is the sketch...

I've actually followed this very closely, except I used two larger photos instead of three medium ones.

For the large circle in the background, I used a dinner plate as a template on the cardstock and drew around it lightly with a pencil. Then after I had finished scrapping my layout I added buttons along the centre of the pencil line. It was fun and it really went well with my theme of bouncing around!

Here's a couple of closie shots...

I've used black paint pen to outline my patterned paper strips. I really love the "pop" factor of this Purple Pumpkin Spotty Dotty button. Red and white is one of my fave combinations... for these kind of buttons and lots of other stuff too! I've also used some PP tickets on there too. Just two actually, but when cut in half and kinda tucked away... voila! They then appear to be four! :)

I've used lace on this layout (shock!) which is unusual for me, but I thought they'd serve as nice clouds and it looked pretty cool in a bow with some ribbon bow buddies. :D

I enjoyed making this so much and also told a little story behind the cute pics! :)

Exciting news... including a challenge!!!

I was thrilled to bits to be asked by the very talented Marivic of Berry71Bleu to guest design for her this month!

Marivic makes the most amazing altered tags! I've used them previously on the following layouts below...

My double layout, "Sweet Tooth". :) Here's a closie of the tag (which is on the left)...

What a gorgeously sweet tag, hey?!

And here's my layout "School is Cool"...

Using the white space in my large photo to feature another gorgeous tag! Here's a closie of the tag...

It's so uber cute and fun! I added my layout title on top of the tag. It was perfect for this!!!

Now how about a challenge? Berry71Bleu's January Challenge is to alter anything. The theme is Vintage or French Cottage. You can do a LO, card, tag, box, or anything your heart desires, that you think is alterable.

You can add any elements you wish and use any media to alter your project. In this sample challenge picture, an old chocolate box was used...

It was covered with paper; the top cover was also embossed in gold then covered with lace fabric. Decorated with Berry71bleu tag, vintage rhinestone necklace, antique brooch, old chandelier crystal piece, and handmade flowers.

Now, here is my take on this challenge...

I've altered a recycled gift box to make a little sewing box. I've got all my sewing stuff in here now. I actually used it today! Sewing has never been more fun! So basically I've covered my box (which had vintage images all over it already... which was super handy!) with a white wash of acrylic paint, gesso and cotton thread. Once dried, I've picked and peeled parts of this on the lid so you can see some of the retro pics peeping through a bit more, then I chalked up the sides with yellow and blue chalk (very subtle).

I then stuck down all the elements. I've got quite a few vintage sewing items on there, plus some recycled sewing items, plus some handmade items too, including of course, the gorgeous Berry71Bleu tag...

Isn't it sweet? It was really the perfect topper for this sewing box! Finally I used some Tim Holtz ink to ink up the edges, corners and faces here and there. :)

Feeling Krafty :)

I couldn't resist this month's challenge at Kraft It Up! It's a colour challenge, and the colours are lovely and bright!

Here is my layout...

I've used plain Kraft cardstock as my base, masked it with some AC stickers (they are really low-tack so they are great for this, actually!) and yes, that's Stickers, not Thickers lol) and glimmermisted it lightly, adding a few splatters by sqirting some of the mist into the lid and dripping it on there too.

I used pre-misted paper doilies from my last layout "Up on Daddy's Shoulders", in which I'd used them as masks on white cardstock. :)

I loved using these colours because they really matched the photos of my daughter Lucy and her friend. On this layout I've documented that alot of her friends get them mixed up... even their teacher!

I've used two cute red and white Spotty Dotty buttons from Purple Pumpkin...

I layered them by putting one partially over the other, and "squishing" them a bit. The top one dents in a bit the the bottom one! :D

I've lightly painted this sun from Charm's Creations with Kaisercraft Deep Yellow paint - just love that colour. I bought it from Scrapbookit's store.

I really enjoyed making this layout - what a fun challenge! :D

RIGHT UP MY ALLEY!

It's #91, it's bright and happy!

Here is my take on it...

One of the many things I like about The Colour Room, is how I really seem to use up my paper scraps that I have. The scraps that I have used for this layout is variety of gorgeous collections available at Scrapbookit...

- Kaisercraft "Sweet Nothings"

- Sassafras Lass "Sunshine Broadcast"

- Echo Park "Splash"

I misted my white Core'dinations cardstock with "Sea Glass" Tattered Angels Glimmermist, using some small paper doilies as masks for my background...

...and I've used some Purple Pumpkin doilies (cut into teeny tiny pieces) and my fave embellie at the moment... the twine bow! LOL! :)

Here is my example layout for this challenge...

I went for a place I'd like to go in 2012! I've printed out a map of Fiji and inked and glimmermisted it to look vintage and funky. :)

I've used lots of Purple Pumpkin embellies on here. Here's some closies of them...

Here's an orange doily that I've cut in half - to use the other half on the other side of the photos, two yellow vinyl hearts that I doodled around, a lovely little rosette that I received in my Girls Lucky Dip, and a piece of pale yellow doily trim that I have used on lots of layouts...

There's the other half of the aforementioned orange doily ;). Plus a twine bow, vinyl tag and a cute wooden butterfly button... SUPER CUTE!!!

Here's some more little rosettes in white and aqua, smaller yellow vinyl tags, another bit of yellow doily trim and look at that awesome satin flower! I love it! I've given it a bit of a trim...

But never fear - I've used it right here! The off-cuts made a lovely accent - reminiscent of the Sydney Opera House, don't you think?

I've also done a fair bit of stamping and doodling on this one too. I really enjoyed creating this and if felt good to get this subject down on paper! Fiji, here I come! ;)

A Yummy Fairy Floss Treat... :)

Hello! Hey, what's this?! 10 days since my last blog entry?! It must be Christmas!! I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas and let the festivities continue!

Well I've been able to scrap a layout during this busy (but fun!) season, it's using the latest sketch (#26) from Pretty Little Studio...

I haven't edited these photos... they were taken in the Magic Cave and they just turned out like that!

I've used PLS Bingo Cards in Brights (normal and mini sizes) and also I've fussy cut a clown from the Clowning Around collection.

There is also a little bit of Purple Pumpkin too...

A fabric Butterfly button and a felt banner with bakers twine...

and a small Little Girl button and a B&W Spotty Dotty button. :)

I've also done a brad border on this one... made a bit of a dent in the brad department stash. ;)

My background was made using a large white paper doily laid over pink cardstock. Trying to keep in the fairy floss vibe!

BTW - I won over at Bird is the Word for the "Trust" challenge... super stoked hey!!!

A pretty school page...

Hey there, I've scrapped a school page which doesn't look typically "schoolish", if you know what I mean ;)

It's based on sketch #186 over at Creative Scrappers...

Lots of layering on this one! I've included a gorgeous tag from Berry71Bleu Tags, Pages and More in the "white space" of the enlarged photo...

Isn't it lovely? I've just put my title on there - "School is Cool". :)

I've also a bit of Purple Pumpkin loveliness on there too...

The spotty dotty button acts like a burger bun with all those layers... ;) I guess that makes the butterfly on the very top there a sesame seed LOL!

Get Picky's December Sketch Challenge & a feature! :)

Get Picky's December Sketch Challenge is now live!

Here is my layout, it's my third layout using the totally gorgeous Kaisercraft's Merry Medley line of patterned paper and embellishments from Scrapbookit...

I absolutely adore this line by Kaisercraft. So much so, that I think I'll have to get the whole collection... again! It's THAT good!

Here is Get Picky's Sketch #15, in which my layout is based on...

I love these kind of sketches - they are very open to your own interpretation and style. If you look closely - I've actually got all the elements from this sketch on my layout.

These closies show some of the gorgeous Purple Pumpkin goodies I also used on my layout. Christmas buttons and die-cut doilies, plus traditional doilies...

I love the different sizes PP buttons come in. Just perfect! :D

I also used this same Kaisercraft line on this layout...

Which has been featured this week at The Colour Room! Yay! :D

I'm really stoked, hey! This is my 2nd feature at TCR. :)

The other layout I made using this line has actually been picked up for publication by Scrapbooking Memories for a Three-Step Technique Feature. It will be in Vol 16 Issue 8. Double yay!

So I think it IS safe to say that this range is "so hot right now"! (I said that earlier this week on my blog... LOL!)

Time 2 Eat! :)

Hello! I've created this layout for the latest challenge at Bird is the Word. The word is "Time" and I decided to scrap a fun "eating" photo of Heidi. My layout is called "Time 2 Eat"...

I've also documented one of daughter Heidi's favourite songs on here "Party in my Tummy" from Yo Gabba Gabba... those dudes have a song for everything! :D

I've done one of my Cartoon Cuties on here (once bitten icypole) ;) ...

And I've even cutified a few (already extremely cute) Lovely Lollipops from Charm's Creations with popsticks and sparkly leaves. :)

I've used Basic Grey pp as my layout base and then layered up from that using Prima's funky new range "Ruby Violet", available from Scrapbookit here.

Ho ho ho! Another Christmassy Share...

Don't you just love it when you get excited about a collection of papers? I do! I have really loved scrapping with this gorgeous collection of paper and stickers from Kaisercraft. The line's called "Merry Medley" and it's available from Scrapbookit which you can check out here. This is my third layout that I've done using this collection and I've used up almost every single scrap! Here it is...

I've made this layout using the latest colour palette at The Colour Room (#88) which, coincidentally, is actually the exact colours of "Merry Medley!" These colours are "so hot right now!" ;)

I've also used the sketch provided at TCR too. I've used just the one photo instead of the two - and replaced the space for the other photo with a matching sized piece of patterned paper. I've also mixed up the trees a bit to suit my layout, and I've also added a few bits and pieces to make it my own. :)

Because I was literally down to scraps for this layout - I found that I had to become more inventive - I'm really pleased with my Christmas trees; I made some templates with scrap paper by freehand drawing triangles, then I cut some strippy bits (alot were already strips!) and glued them horizontally across the "trees", then snipping them down to size once turned over (to see the template).

I put little "x's" on the top of two of my trees as stars - but they are really "Christmas Kisses" ;)...

I've one more Chrissy page using this collection to put up on my blog (a DT page). It'll be up very soon!

Hello! I was stoked to be able to join in with Once Upon A... Sketch's latest challenge. I really enjoy their challenges, but I seem to run out of time alot. This challenge is all about documenting what you look forward to the most in the month of December. I just couldn't go past Christmas - which really includes the lead-up to the big day, the actual day, and also the frivolities that happen afterwards - in short, the festive season! :D

I used the lovely sketch by Nadia (her sketches are always so fabulous and leave you lots of room for interpretation if that takes your fancy!). I added a few bits and pieces here and there to the layout of the sketch, whilst still remaining quite true to it.

My layout is called "I (Heart) Xmas!!"...

I must add that I have totally covered the journalling criteria... lol! It feels good to right what's on your mind about a given subject. So my journalling here is vertically written down the page, along the lines of the patterned paper. It kinda blends in with the layout without overwhelming it if you know what I mean. :)

I am totally loving this gorgeous collection of paper and stickers from Kaisercraft. The line is called "Merry Medley" and it's available from Scrapbookit right here, right now! I've done lots of layering with these papers - they are truly a joy to work with. :)

I've also got some Purple Pumpkin on here too...

Lots and lots and lots of doilies! Including a mini one and a pretty paper one! A twine bow, Spotty Dotty fabric button, a Santa fabric button, a cute gift-giving birdie fabric button (for lack of a better name lol!) and tickets...

Plus two gorgeous squishy vinyl hearts (that make up part of my title) in red and green. I doodled on those... ;)

It's time to reveal my design team examples for Scrapbookit's December Monthly Challenges!

We would love to see your interpretation of the song 'Turn, Turn, Turn (to everything there is a Season) by the Byrds. You can find the full lyrics @ http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/forrestgump/turnturnturntoeverythingthereisaseason.htm

Your Layout must include the following:

1. Photo 5x7";

2. Clock/s in any form;

3. Cogs;

4. A musical element;

5. Use of either the title or lyrics from this song.

Here is my take on the challenge...

I've used Kaisercraft's "Sweet Nothings" collection for my layout - they have such a timeless appeal! Perfect for this challenge!

So on my layout I've covered all the criteria - I've included a 5"x7" photo (plus another photo), a clock (stamped and cut out)...

BTW - Isn't that rosette trim delightful? It's by Green Tara and you can check it out right here! I've tied a knot in mine and stapled it onto my layout. :)

Here are my cogs! They are A2Z Scraplets Nested Chipboard Cogs. They are so cool! You get SO MANY in one pack (I didn't use them all... not by a long shot!). Here I've separated the cogs from each other and misted each alternating cog in Tattered Angels Glimmermist in Coffee Shop. Then I've simply "re-nested" them together, doodled around the edges for further definition, and stuck a cut-out shape from the Kaiser pp in the middle.

My musical element is my music sheet pp by Kaisercraft (also from the abovementioned collection - Sweet Nothings)

My title is from the song's lyrics... "A time to laugh" - which fit my photos perfectly!

Lastly, I HAD FUN!!! LOL! :D

Now for the card challenge!

The criteria is:

1. Use your favourite song lyrics
2. Include some sewing
3. Brads
4. Musical element

... and once again - fun! :)

Here's my card...

My card is based on the Faith Evan's Song "I Love You", I've hand stitched some twine at the top left, I've put brads in the centre of the abovementioned rosettes (I've simply cut them from the trim to make separate flowers) and YES! I did have fun once again! :D

Here is Stuff 2 Scrap's December Challenge...

Hi! Today I'd like to share with you my example for Stuff 2 Scrap's December Challenge!

This month it's pretty simple (but fun!) and hopefully you can make some time to join in and play along!

1. The theme is Christmas with non traditional christmas colours.
2. Use the technique masking.
3. And don't forget some chipboard!!

Here is my example...

I've used Core'dinations cardstock and I've decorated it with paints, transparencies, stickers and glimmermist. :)

This S2S chippie tree circle was used as a mask for my glimmermisting, before adhering to my layout.

I love this Nutcracker Purple Pumpkin XL Fabric Button. I've stuck it on top of a bauble which was part of some Christmas packaging. UPcycling!

I have decorated my photo like a Christmas tree - I tried to keep to that shape, without it being majorly obvious. :D

Hello! Well I simply HAD to play along at Basic Grey this week because I really love their double page sketch (11.28.11). There's also an added challenge where you need to incorporate stitching into your layout. Well I did this using my sewing machine - I used every single stitch available in turn around the whole two-page border... then ripped around the edges. :)

I had lots of fun creating this. :) I've got a Purple Pumpkin Spotty Dotty Button on here, and I made my "O" by cutting out a closie photo of a plastered knee...

Those uber-cute clouds are from Charm's Creations. I've just added three pearls to each and doodled around them with a white gel pen.

That twine bow is from Purple Pumpkin (I'm addicted to using this baker's twine in a bow now - really flying through my stash doing this!!!)...

And so is my doily which I turned into a sun using BasicGrey stickers cut in half...

And lookee here! After a small hiatus, my Cartoon Cuties are back! I haven't been drawing for a little while and boy, I realised I missed it! It's only been about 3 weeks I think, but it's too long!

I've used lots and lots of wonderful Basic Grey patterned papers and stickers. The lines I've used are "Hello Luscious" and "Indie Bloom". I love it when different lines mix together so nicely! Basic Grey really has quite a timeless quality to their papers - really nice!

Purple Pumpkin's December Sketch Challenge! :)

Hello! Purple Pumpkin's got a new sketch for this month's challenge, again created by the very clever DT Member, Sara Noendeng.

It's a great sketch to work with and I particularly enjoyed working with the extra-large photo.

Here is my example layout of a close friend and myself...

Lots of stamping, misting, inking, stitching on this one! And here is the sketch...

Here's a closie of that that BIG LUSH RED stunner of a flower from Purple Pumpkin...

I can totally work with these sorts of flowers - I guess they are kinda bold and funky in a way - so that's probably why! :)

You have until the 31st of December to complete this sketch and link it up onto PP's sidebar. There will be two fabulous Purple Pumpkin prize packs to give away - one winner will be chosen by the design team, and the second will be a random prize draw. Sweet!

Hello! It's time for Get Picky's latest inspiration challenge, and it's a doozy! Firstly, here is my example layout...

My layout is all about my daughter Lucy's love of BOOKS! And now, here is the inspiration prompt...

It's all about...
Words, Words, Words!
This month the challenge is to create a layout that focuses on the "story". Your layout will need to contain journaling that helps tell the story. You can draw your inspiration from any particular story you'd like to tell... from the mundane... to the everyday magical moments that fill our lives... to the inspirational... to those that record our hopes and dreams....
You can write anything from a couple of sentences to an entire thesis.
It's your story.....you tell it :)

So you don't HAVE to actually write about books, like me. I have been wanting to document this for such a long time that as soon as I saw the prompt, this sprung to mind! So in keeping with the theme, I've also actually used some vintage book paper, laid out like an open book, and I've inked the edges to define them and make it look even more "old school" LOL.

I've got LOTS of Purple Pumpkin on here too...

Look at that large owl fabric button - sooo cute! I've stuck it on top of a blue doily and tucked a yellow vinyl hear underneath and stapled it so you can see it's "squishiness". ;) This is all Purple Pumpkin stuff!

Here's some more...

A lovely alphabet button, green doily and a green and white Baker's Twine bow. :D

I've fingerpainted the border around my photos... FUN!

I've used Sassafras Lass' Sunshine Broadcast patterned paper from Scrapbookit. That range really tends to mix well with lots of different stuff.

The bright yellow paper you can just see amongst the layering is cardstock, spray painted (in black) over an old alpha negative chipboard sheet. :)

The Colour Room - Palette #86

Hi there! I've made a layout for this week's palette at The Colour Room. And here it is...

I've inked the Core'dinations cardstock - which was already embossed, then I cut around the outside outline to make the shape. I've used up lots of scraps of paper (which is great!) and I've got lots of chippie on this one too (which has either been left raw, white-washed or glimmermisted).

I've made a little cotton reel with some string and an image cut from a Collections pack of DIY cotton reels...

I've also included one black and white Spotty Dotty Button from Purple Pumpkin, and I've made a string bow (they've become a bit of a habit lately... LOL!)...

Hey there, scrappers! I've played along again at Bird is the Word - this time the word is "Trust". Here's my layout...

LOL! Heidi struck this pose for me at the restaurant - that's the menu on her head! So my layout is called "Trust You! (To strike a pose like that)". :)

The tiny chippie feather in Heidi's "hat" (as in she stuck a feather in her hat and called it macaroni) is by Stuff 2 Scrap - it's called "Ann's Feather" (sml). I've just left it raw and doodled around the edges. :)

I've got lots of Purple Pumpkin on this one, including doilies, lollipop flowers and a super-cute deer fabric button...

I've also upcycled some clothing tags too, as you can see in my closie. They were pretty cool already - I've just misted and doodled around the edges.

Hi! I decided to play along over at Kraft It Up! this month. The challenge is all about journalling and creative ways to display it, making sure your creation is on Kraft. :)

Here is my entry...

I have journalled all around the sides of my fussy-cut gigantic flower shape in red gel pen. (Maybe this humungous flower shape will kinda make up for my lack of flowers on my layouts lol). I've doodled around the shape and I've done some INTENSE fussy cutting (the most fussiest to date for me!) with these three cute party girls - cut from an old birthday card. Cute hey! These girls inspired my colour palette for my page!

I used the negative shape of the flower as a mask and lightly glimmermisted the Kraft base.

Here is a close up of some doodling and a yummy Spotty Dotty Purple Pumpkin fabric button...

I love those buttons!!! :D

I've also got a torn bit of black and white polka-dotted fabric on there too - just for a bit of texture.

Here's my layout based on the latest sketch at Sketchy Thursdays (#11.17)...

I've done my background again with white cardstock, glimmermist, and by using feral-looking flowers as masks. I then outlined the feral flower shapes (they were cut in half to look like clouds) with glue and then sprinkled blue glitter over the top. ;)

I've used some twine from Purple Pumpkin...

...as well as some doilies, here...

and here...

I've stayed quite true to the sketch, except I have added an extra photo and some other li'l extras. ;)

And now, who wants some candy? Have a look at this...

Hi! Here is my layout for the current challenge at Bird is the Word...

The word is "adore" and my full title is "You Adore the Outdoors". Kinda has a ring to it doesn't it? That's a Chantal original - you heard it here first! LOL!

My background was made but spraying glimmermist over white cardstock - but here was my lightbulb moment - over half-cut flowers (which act as clouds). Cool hey? I've got WAAAY too many flowers - yucky, feral-looking ones too - so I need to find new ways to use them up because I don't scrap with them much... ;)

Look at these cute Spotty Dotty buttons and the scooter button here, from Purple Pumpkin...

And that doodling with the circles and dashes was inspired by Heather Jacob. I love finding new ways to doodle! :)

I made a sun with a XL PP button and a doodled sticker...

And chucked on a Stuff2Scrap chippie cloud (white washed & doodled) for just that li'l bit extra! The cloud is part of a whole pack full of goodies (which I also used some of on my layout on my previous post). Click on the link to check it out if you're interested. It's one of my faves. :D

Latest Colour Room Palette Share...

Hi! Here's my layout based on the current colour palette at The Colour Room (#85)...

My layout has alot of fabric and different textures - I went for a "dreamy/fun/wonderment" kinda feel. If that makes any sense! :D

I've used Ann's Geo Corners (Small) chipboard by Stuff 2 Scrap.

Also, I've used Ann's Rainy Days rainbows and clouds chipboard pack from Stuff 2 Scrap. I have just white washed over it with acrylic paint.

That adorable panda button is from Purple Pumpkin, as is the doilies and felt clouds. I've cut up my doilies to make a little banner...

I've used Modge Podge and acrylic paints on some string and stuck it down in a sort of free-fall circle. Fun!

I have lugged out the sewing machine on this one too - inspired by the very talented Heather Jacob. :)

Hi! I've played along with the latest Basic Grey sketch (11.14.11)...

AWESOME sketch - couldn't miss it! I've used a Basic Grey alpha sheet as my backing (misted, with a paint pen edge), and some lovely coordinating Basic Grey patterned papers.

Lots of Purple Pumpkin too of course ;)...

The twine bow, mini doily and tickets are all from Purple Pumpkin...

As well as the big doily and fabric buttons! Isn't the snail one so cute and so appropriate for my layout - "Slow Down"?! :)

And did you spy that super cute 4WD chippie? It's from Stuff 2 Scrap! I've simply outlined it with a white gel pen! :D

It's Week 5 of Scrapbookit's Birthday Celebrations!!!

I've played along with all of the previous challenges at Scrapbookit over this month, and this week - it's my turn! This is the sketch I'm hosting and it's a beauty! Check it out, courtesy of PageMaps.com...

And here is my layout example based on the sketch... :)

I've been using the gorgeous collection from Crate Paper "Emma's Shoppe" for my creations this month! :D

For this layout I've used Emma's Shoppe "Dolls" and Emma's Shoppe "Dresses" on a base of Coredinations Cardstock. I've swiped some Kaisercraft White Gloss Varnish over my layout with some scrap paper and I've squirted some Tattered Angels Glimmermist in Coffee Shop (what a versatile colour!!!) into it's lid and dripped some, swiped some, and I even used the lid to do mini coffee mug spill imprints on my layout for something different! I actually did a border (just like the sketch) near the bottom of my layout by using this coffee spill/lid imprint technique and I finished it off by topping each circle off with a white pearl each from Flourish with a Bling... just like cupcakes! ;)

I loved using those cute li'l Prima flowers so much that I not only used them all on this layout, I even used the whole package up! My bottom photo has a bit of the package on the base and the rest of it has been used up at the top...

Now how's that for UPcycling?! What a uber cute photo matte! :)

This sketch is fantastic for cropping photos with not-so-great backgrounds (like I did). Or, of course, you can do a photo collage on Picassa etc and use those pics! :)

Now here is my card based on the same sketch...

So basically I've swapped the photos for a lovely image from the aforementioned patterned paper. I fussy-cut this gorgeous girl out, just gave her a li'l bit of a shade with paint (nothing too major) and then I "worked" some creases into her skirt gently with my thumbs for just a little bit of dimension. I then popped a bit of foam tape underneath to add to the effect.

Don't you just love these new American Crafts "Daydream" Thickers? What an awesome colour and font! Super cute!!!

A Lipsmackin' Challenge...

G'day! I decided to play along again this month with Scrap-It-Lah. November's challenge has been set by the very talented Debbi Tehrani. The challenge is;

All layouts must please incorporate the following

{thereafter any extras may be added}

1. Layers - at least 6

2. Stamping and/or embossing

3. Tags or journaling cards incorporated into your design

(not necessarily used to journal on but can be if you choose)

Now that's a challenge I can really sink my teeth into! Here is my take...

My layout is called "Lipsmackin' Fish and Chips" :)

I've definately covered the 6 layers criteria; I've got cardstock with journal tags machine stitched all over it in a grid pattern, then misted, then I've ripped the tags around the border to produce a rustic pattern. There's a super sized doily which has been torn in half and layered. Some MME Lost & Found pp, Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings pp from Scrapbookit and Anna Griffin pp.

I've got stamping on the top left and bottom right of my layout, as well as three Basic Grey stamps over my inked tag on the left of the photo. Love those postmark stamps!

And the last of the criteria is to use tags and/or journalling cards - well my layout is covered with them, plus I've an extra tag as mentioned above. I'd say I've around 20 tags on my layout... ;)

There's a closie of my tag and two adorable fishy fabric buttons from Purple Pumpkin. Yep! I just stapled those babies on there!

And two more fishies - chippie ones this time from A2Z; they've been inked and doodled! :)

The overall effect I was going for with this layout was a "Fish & Chip cafe vibe". It was fun!

Pretty Little Puppies!

Here's my layout based on Pretty Little Studio's latest sketch challenge (#20)...

I haven't got a huge amount of PLS's goodies (yet), but I have used three adorable 2" Vintage Circle Tags in "Puppies". They are sooo cute!!!

I've also got some more doggie-themed goodies on here - postage stamps, bone paperclips and a paw-print ribbon! :)

The fabric tree button is from Purple Pumpkin. I've glued some pearls on it for just a little extra POP!

Sweet Tooth PLUS My Challenge!!! :)

Hello! Here is my double layout for last week's colour palette #82 at The Colour Room...

It's called "Sweet Tooth" and these cute Easter Pics of Heidi matched the palette perfectly! Please double-click on my layout to see it better (it's pretty tiny otherwise!).

Isn't this tag gorgeous?! It's a work of art! It's from Berry71Bleu Tags, Pages and More. I just adore Marivic's tags! :)

Also did you spy that bundle of twine and the gorgeous Pink/White Spotty Button Tops? They are from Purple Pumpkin.

That lovely rose ribbon trim was part of an awesome RAK from the lovely and mega-talented Cathy Cafun. She's one of my most fave scrappers in the whole wide world! Thanks Cathy! :)

Other PP goodies on this layout - the Blue and White Spotty Dotty Button wrapped in Baker's Twine and layered underneath that I've a nice Fuscia Doily. Plus I've used five Pink Tickets for my journalling and underneath my title. :)

Here's the challenge...

Time to get out your postage stamps and use them on your scrapbooking!

So basically all you do is:

1. Find some postage stamps! I used lots, but if you don't have lots, a little will do (where you think they will be visible). For my "Time for School" layout, I looked for stamps with greenish tones in them - but anything will do!
2. Glue them (I used a glue stick - no lumps or bumps!) onto coloured cardstock (I chose green - that's why I looked for stamps with a greenish colour in them)
3. Spray your page with glimmermist! I used green - this makes the background "less busy". I then put my paper under a heavy weight for about an hour... optional! :D
4. Scrap on your new funky background! Yay! Fun! :)

Perfect for school-themed layouts... like mine!

Time for the forth sketch challenge for the month! :)

Scrapbookit's forth sketch challenge is up on the blog - it's now week 4 of their Mega Birthday Celebrations!!! There's still plenty of time to play along, and you can do as many or as little of the challenges you like! All layouts and cards created using the sketches are due in by the 30th of November! So there is some serious time there!!! :D There's lots of awesome prizes up for grabs too - now how's that for inspiration?

I have played along again this week, and here's my take on the sketch...

Here on my layout "Chocolate", I've gone ticket-mad! :P I just love these tickets from Purple Pumpkin! I've also used Coredinations Cardstock and an assortment of 3 alpha Thickers from Scrapbookit's store.

Did you spy that Dora shoelace on the bottom of my photo? I used the rest of it up (I'd used it on a very recent layout). :)

I've got got a Spotty Dotty Button and Purple & White Twine here, also from PP. I've made my journaling strips by cutting up a shipping tag. I've also painted some corrugated cardboard in purple paint and stamped it on my cardstock for a bit of extra colour.

And here is the sketch, provided by PageMaps...

I've totally replaced the hearts on the sketch with tickets! I've also added a few other bits and pieces on my layout in addition to the sketch, but all the basics are still there! :D

Hi there! I'd like to share with you the new challenge this month at Stuff 2 Scrap. This month it's time to get a bit messy so the criteria for the November challenge are:

(1) Paint - but wait! No brushes, sponges, etc. Use your creative hands to get paint onto your layout.

(2) Stacked chippie! This is a great way to use up varying sizes of the same design or combine totally different chipboard patterns, pieces and styles to create something new.

(3) Song lyrics - these can either make up your title, your journalling, or just a line on the layout somewhere. Any song you like is fine, from nursery rhymes to your favourite rock anthems!

Here is my take on the challenge...

My layout is called "Park Life!", named after the 1994 song by Blur. :)

Here's my stacked chippie! I've used Leeann's Bubble Tree (glimmermisted) with a bird (patterned papered and inked) stacked on top. I've also decorated my tree (or "trimmed" it) with cute red bows from Scrapbookit and a gorgeous Spotty Dotty button from Purple Pumpkin. :)

I've fingerpainted with black paint behind my matted photo and also with white paint on my word "life!".

I've also used a cute mini doily and a nice strip of tickets from Purple Pumpkin too.

Scrapbookit's third sketch challenge is up on the blog - it's week 3 of their Mega Birthday Celebrations!!! There's still plenty of time to play along, and you can do as many or as little of the challenges you like! There's lots of awesome prizes up for grabs too - now how's that for inspiration?

I have played along and here's my take on the sketch...

Here I've used the lovely range of Sassafras Lass' "Sunshine Broadcast". With just an incy wincy bit of Echo Park's "For The Record" thrown in for good measure. ;)

I've also got some delightful Purple Pumpkin goodies on here...

I've got some cute mini doilies, felt clouds, tickets and this gorgeous yellow lollipop flower. These are my most favourite flowers to scrap with... ever! :D

Purple Pumpkin's November Sketch Challenge plus a HUGE giveaway!!! :D

Hello everyone! Purple Pumpkin has a fab sketch challenge up this month, using three photos (but of course you can interpret it any way you like!). Here is my take on it...

My layout is called "The Things That You Do!" and it's about (journalling quote) "Shopping for placemats has never been more fun! You thought they made the best hats!!!". LOL! One of those moments when I was so glad I had my camera handy! Totally "off the cuff" classic! So here I've used Purple Pumpkin buttons - including a purple spotty dotty and a little girl one... so cute! Also PP pink doily trims, black and white baker's twine, and blue tickets. :)

The chippie is from Stuff 2 Scrap - "Anne's Geo Corners (Large)". I've misted over them with glimmermist, along with other parts of the layout. I masked bits of my layout with just ripped scrap paper.

I included an odd Dora shoelace on there too... just keepin' it real. ;)

Here's the sketch (that I followed quite closely)...

It's time to "Get Picky"! October's inspiration challenge + a WINNER!!! :)

Hello everyone! Well Get Picky's October inspo challenge #13 is now live - and it's a real rippa! This has to be one of my very fave challenges (albeit one of many!). I hope you can all join in! :)

Here is my layout...

It's called (Make a Wish) Blow the Dandelion! :D A fun childhood activity calls for a fun layout! I've also used the most adorable quote: "Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them." - A.A. Milne. I thought it to be so apt, seeing as dandelions are in actual fact, weeds, but they are well-loved by children for this very activity! :D

Here is the photo prompt that you are to be inspired by...

Plus you must use fabric (in any way, shape, or form - like burlap, lace, felt etc...). Cool, huh? Well I was firstly inspired by the photo mostly by the colours used, the order the colours used appear (namely the pretty throw rugs), the way these rugs are draped on the daybed inspired the small vertical strips of doilies at the bottom of my main photo, and the sheer white canopy inspired my use of white lace as a backdrop.

The doilies, lace and cotton fabric I've used totally covers the use fabric quota (to the extreme!) :D. I've not used any patterned paper here at all, which was fun in itself!

I've used Kraft cardstock and I've used a big painter's brush to dry brush Dulux Metalic Effects onto it. This really gives a rich deep look that I don't think I've ever before acheived. It looks lovely in real life!

All my doilies are from Purple Pumpkin - love the colours they come in!

I love using postage stamps, and this was a real stroke of luck - an actual dandelion one! I stamped my stamp (lol) with a BasicGrey postage cancellation stamp - I use those stamps more than any other!

Circus fun! :D

Hello! I've played along at Pretty Little Studio's Monthly Sketch Challenge #18 (my first time) and I've come up with this layout, "The Circus!!!"...

I've followed the sketch closely, but added lots of my own stuff to it to make it well and truly my own. I've used Pretty Little Studio's "Clowning Around" line of paper and embellishments - their sooo adorable! PLS's motto is "Fresh Vintage - Whimsical Fun", and this really sums up their whole vibe perfectly! If you haven't checked out their stuff yet, they are well worth a look!

Here I've cut out PLS's flags and made a bunting by taping the flags (using Tim Holtz ideaology paper tape) onto twine from Purple Pumpkin. :)

I've also got another bunch of twine there from PP (I've left it in it's already wound-up bow) and I've stuck two sewing pins in it for a bit of something extra. I've also Purple Pumpkin yellow, red and orange tickets (I've simply screwed them up then flattened them back out slightly for a bit of vintage cuteness), tiny bits of yellow doily trim cut up and peeking out behind the music paper, and the essential Purple Pumpkin statement button (uber cute!).

I've also chucked in a couple of vintage sheet music pages, a paper doiley, packaging, a horse-shaped paperclip (lol) amongst the overall mix.

Plus I've used Kaisercraft deep yellow, and white coloured paints, Core'dinations cardstock and AC Thickers - all from Scrapbookit.

Another challenge!!! It's time to kick off Week 2 of Scrapbookit’s Mega Celebrations!!!

Hey there scrappers! It's the second week of Scrapbookit's Mega Birthday Celebrations, so there's a second sketch challenge reveal up on the blog! Not only does Scrapbookit have a different sketch for you each week, but there is also weekly prizes, the normal monthly prize and a mega sale in store (starting tomorrow, Tuesday 25th October) That's MEGA!!! :D

I've joined in the celebrations this month, not only with my own sketch (to come) but with the other DT members' sketches too! Here is my layout...

I've used the gorgeous line "Emma's Shoppe" from Crate Paper for this layout. The base is the B-side of "Quilts", I've cut my own shapes from "Sweets" (back and front)", and added just a smidge of "Dresses". There's also a tad of gorgeous yellow Core'dinations Cardstock in there just to add a pop of colour and to break up the pattern paper bonanza a bit (oh but what a glorious bonanza!) :D What a joy it is to use this collection! I love those AC thickers too - the colour and the font are super cool! I've used a bit of Tattered Angels Glimmermist in "Coffee Shop" on my layout. This stuff is awesome! Love the colour and the shimmer (or should I say glimmer? ;) ) to this mist. It's a really versatile colour (a staple!) plus in this instance, it really matched my pic too! LOL! So, yep - all the aforementioned goodies are from Scrapbookit's fantastic store. :) Here is the sketch from PageMaps that I used and that is the one to use for the challenge... (it's a beauty!)...

I exchanged the medium large photo and small photo for the one large photo. Other than that, most of the elements from the sketch are intact. That's the great thing about sketches - you can totally use them as a guide, to fit in with your own style, photos available, products, layout theme etc. :) Here's a little closie...

I've added my own handmade embellishments here, plus a gorgeously cute Little Girl Button from Purple Pumpkin. :)

All entries are to be e-mailed to Joanne by the 30th of November... BUT if you have them in by FRIDAY you can pick up an extra prize! Wow!!!

Okay I stumbled upon a cool challenge that the super-talented Helen Tilbury posted about on her blog. It's at Scrap-It-Lah and this particular challenge is hosted by the fabulous Eila Sandberg (who I "know" very well from The Colour Room!).

So the challenge for October is to create a layout using...

1.      Old book paper, sheet music or something similar downloaded off the internet & printed out.

2.      Fussy-cutting.

3.      Hand-stitching using embroidery floss.

And here is my layout, "Awesome Foursome"...

All the criteria's there - I've used OA pp which has old cookbook print on it, I "fussy cut" around the little girl and apple on the bottom right corner, and I've hand stitched around the whole layout with three different colours of embroidery floss. I do like hand stitching and should totally do it more often! I've decorated some of my stitches with cute-shaped paperclips for a bit of fun! :D

Don't you just love that XL fabric button from Purple Pumpkin? I've got two spotty buttons on here, the other one is a tad smaller. I've also got half a mini doily on my layout too (on the right edge next to my photo) which is also available from PP.

My layout is called "Bombie Pool" :) and I've used Echo Park's "Splash" papers and cardstock stickers, 7Gypsies "MyKonos" patterned paper and Sassafras Lass' "Sunshine Broadcast" papers and cardstock stickers, American Crafts Thickers and BasicGrey & Hot off the Press flourish stamps all from Scrapbookit's store.

I've also used some delightful handmade goodies from Purple Pumpkin...

I've used orange tickets (love these), Aqua twine (kept it in it's cute bow as an accent in itself... super cute :P), mini doilies and a regular sized doily, a Star Round embellishment and lastly (but certainly not least!) a black and white Spotty Dotty button! :D

My layout is called "Time for School" and I've used a fun technique for my background that I've used once before (last week) - I've glued lots of green and green-toned postage stamps in a "scattered" effect all over my green cardstock base, then to blend, I've simply sprayed the entire page with green glimmermist. :)

I've followed the sketch fairly closely (it's a beauty because it's fairly simple and really open to your own style and interpretation) and added some cute little details including these adorable spotty dotty buttons from Purple Pumpkin...

As we mentioned, there are lots of great birthday pressies up for grabs along our hop today. Some of our designers will be offering a RAK of their own and of course there is the chance to become our Guest Designer for November....but what's a celebration without that very special gift.

Celebrating with Get Picky!

Hello! I have been celebrating a fair bit lately with my new DT appointment at Get Picky! And even though my first DT example layout for GP will be revealed very soon, I still wanted to play along with the current challenge - just for FUN! :D

So September's Inspiration Challenge is... a word! Here's the low down...

"This month,we have chosen the word...

"Celebrate"

as the focus for our layouts.

You can choose to use the word (or a variation of it, ie. 'celebration') as part of your title or journaling, or you can use the theme of celebrating a special day or holiday like Christmas, someones birthday, celebrate life, good times....

We have so much to be grateful for each and every day, so we want to see how that translates into any or every aspect of your life through what and how you celebrate!"

How awesome is THAT challenge?! Well I love that theme so I jumped on in and created this...

My double layout (yes I'm at it again lol) is called "Celebrating Summertime", and I couldn't of been more thrilled than to have a chance to scrap these lovely photos for my daughter, Heidi. If you click on the image it transforms from small to humungous! lol! :)

I've used some of the Echo Park "Splash" range of patterned papers on this layout, including "Big Waves" and "Fish", along with the matching cardstock alpha stickers which includes much MORE than just alphas - totally love these! :D I've tied some Green Tara metal embellishments onto a knotted ribbon border on the base - these embellishments are really detailed and they are a ocean theme... very apt! ;D All these products I've mentioned, plus the Kaisercraft Rhinestones, AC Thickers and Core'dinations cardstock are all from Scrapbookit.

For my background, I covered cardstock with vintage sheet music paper and then I swiped it with white paint and then sprayed it with Tattered Angels glimmermist in Turquoise Blue. I love the neutral backdrop it gives to the bright colours. :)

The chippie you can spy is Ann's Geo Corners (Large) by Stuff 2 Scrap. Designed by Ann Lederhose, you get so much for your dollar with this collection. Well worth a look - just click on the link. :D

I've also got three gorgeous Purple Pumpkin buttons on here. Two are from the Red Six Pack and the other is from the Mixed Spotty Button Pack... they add a glorious "pop" of dimension, don't you think? :)

A quick announcement!

A new challenge at Stuff 2 Scrap! :)

Hi scrappers! Today I'm going to share with you all a super fun challenge at Stuff 2 Scrap, set by the uber talented Anita Tillman!

It's a 4,3,2,1 challenge!....

- 4 different pattern papers
- 3 flowers
- 2 tags
- 1 Stuff2Scrap chippy (other brands are accepted though!!! :D )

This is just a minimum requirement... you can add more of each item and you can also add more elements - paint, mist stickers etc... it just has to have at least what is on the list.
You can create a card, layout or off the page project if you like!

Well, suprise suprise (not), I decided to create a layout! And here it is...

I have used a cute Stuff 2 Scrap sunflower planter box here - love the detail on this piece - I have mixed my own paint colours just on a scrap piece of paper and painted the chippie with a fine paintbrush. Once dried, I've outlined the indented outlines in black gel pen to make them stand out. Instead of throwing away the scrap paper that I used as my "palette", I pressed it face down on my layout a few times, making random fun paint imprints. :)

Fun!!! So I am hoping to see lots of lovely entries over at Stuff 2 Scrap this month!

Oh and quick toot - I've had a bit of a run of luck in the last few days! I've won a prize at Scrap the Girls, BasicGrey, Pretty Little Studio and Berry71Bleu, and I'm a Sketch Thursday fave too! Also, I received my complimentary copy of Sommerset Memories today (I've a layout in there called "Delight"). If you haven't seen it before, it's an absolutely awesome magazine -actually, it's more like a book! I love the stuff in there... ALOT! :D

I've played along this week at Sketchy Thursdays - LOVED this sketch (9.29) so just HAD to roll with this one...

I think this my first layout with a furry friend in it! Awww! Did you notice my postage stamp background? This was super cool fun! I simply got a lovely blue Core'dinations cardstock, glued lots of bluish postage stamps all over it randomly, then I sprayed a little bit of blue Tattered Angels Glimmermist all over it to blend and give my background a pretty finish. Voila! Fun stuff! You can buy these highlighted products at Scrapbookit's store!

Okay, who's up for some Psycho inspo? Well then if you are, you are in for at T R E A T! This month's inspiration at From Screen 2 Scrap! comes from the movie poster "Psycho"! The original Alfred Hitchcock masterpiece. :)

Here's my layout...

And the extra 6 bonus point criteria is...

1. A spooky house (mine is in the photo!)
2. A silhouette figure (bottom left)
3. A one-word title split in half (check!)

Here's a closie...

That chippie is from Stuff 2 Scrap, it's called "Ann's Barb Wire" and it's the small version. I just inked it up to make it look a bit gothic and it ties in with the theme - the "haunted" fenced-off abandoned house. :)

I also was inspired by the large black and white photo and the purplish tint on the house.

Here's my take on BasicGrey's weekly sketch no. 9.26.11...

Hello! :-D

I've used BasicGrey's line "Indie Bloom" - such lovely bright and cheery colours and patterns. My background has been made with vintage bookpaper - torn up, glued onto cardstock and glimmermisted. I've found that this is a great way to get a fun and unique neutral background - and you can use any colour cardstock (the colour I chose was pretty feral actually LOL).

I'm really loving those polka-dot fabric buttons from Purple Pumpkin too. Actually I used a few buttons on this layout - funny thing is, no matter how many buttons I use on my projects, I never seem to make a "dent" in my buttons stash. Maybe it's magical. Or maybe not. LOL.

I ripped out the felt for this layout (it's been a while) and made a felt bow. Kinda cute! ;)

Hey everyone, I've been scrappin' and I've created a layout for The Bird is the Word (again)! This time around there are two challenge words to use together; YOU & ME! I've used these words in my journalling, as my layout title is "Hug." :)

I've also used their fabulous sketch provided - absolutely loved this sketch!!!

So here I've been using BG's Indie Bloom range again, along with lots of other goodies like Ann's Rainy Days Chipboard from Stuff 2 Scrap (these come in a pack consisting of 2 rainbows and 4 extra clouds), Sass pp, vintage book paper, coloured corrugated cardboard and super cute buttons from Purple Pumpkin...

I gave my S2S chippie clouds a silver lining treatment using a mercury silver Galaxy Marker by American Crafts (those markers are cool!!!). I've also stamped a border with a cute Studio Calico doily stamp, doodled all over the shop, blinged it up here and there and got some more milage out of those trusty OA labels stickers - I love those!!! Here's a closie of my journalling using the two "golden words" LOL...

I really enjoyed making this layout and I hoped you enjoyed my share!

Hello! Here is my take on September 15th's challenge at Once Upon A... Sketch...

My layout is called "Little Things". I've used the sketch provided quite closely, plus I've also followed the journalling criteria, where you are supposed to journal two lines directly onto your photo. I've used these cute Jenni Bowlin mini alphas (do these ever run out?! LOL.) and my journalling reads...

"Heidi, you found yourself a pine scale leaf. You were so proud of that. You never let go."

A cute little memory to capture... holding onto a found treasure all the way home whilst sound asleep. You can see Heidi holding her leaf (she called it a snake) at the bottom left of the photo.

I plaited my twine on this layout...

these BG "Indie Bloom" papers are pretty boho - really cool. Plus I threw in a bit of Sass, OA and EP too!

My chipboard arrow is from Stuff 2 Scrap and the doily trim is from The Chip Chop Shop.

A double to "SHARE"'... :)

I've been playing along with Bird is the Word again - and the word in question is "share". I've the word share in my journalling this time, rather than my title - as it was much more suitable for the photos I had. Check out the circus "we got to share as a family" (as written amongst the plethora of journalling... (roll-up, roll-up!)....

Yes a double again! I do enjoy them so much! :D Lots to show on this one. I used a technique that I haven't used for AGES. That would be chalking. :) A blast from the past! I blended shimmery yellow chalk to create the appearance of spotlights (inspired by the photographs). I added some gold and clear shiny sequins too.

I made some banners for my page, using triangles, eyelets, and twine and I attached it to my layout with 3D foam tape - just a tad on each banner triangle.

I've got all four circus tickets on my page - adds a real nice touch... keepin' it real... ;)

Notice the audience silhouettes at the bottom? That was inspired by a photo too. See below's pic of page two - it's the top left photo...

Cool hey? I thought that looked really cool in the photo so I drew my own audience in pencil and then coloured it mostly black with a marker (I did leave a little white here and there at the top edges - gives a bit more of a 3D/movement effect).

The papers I used were Echo Park "For the Record" (for the record - I'm still loving that range, especially in little bits here and there on layouts - like here, I've just used the mini polka dot pp), Sassafras Lass, book paper and Core'dinations cardstock - all bought from Scrapbookit (with the exception of the book paper - try the Salvos lol), as well as all three alphas.

I had almost as much fun making this page as I did actually going to the Great Moscow Circus... and that was FUN!

Hello! Firstly thanks to all your lovely comments and congratulations for my big news! :)

For the first time I have played along with BasicGrey...yay!

Here is my take on the latest sketch challenge - Basic Scrapbook Sketch : 9.19.11...

I've used the new collection of BasicGrey which is called "Indie Bloom". What a great name! It really "fits" to a "t"!

One of my very favourite aspects of the sketch is the use of tags at the top as a banner! Cute! Here I used shipping tags, cut their bottoms (ouch!) into a triangular shape and I stuck three cardstock sticker tags on top by just cutting off the actually "hole" part. I made an extra one using pp because I needed four. You can't even tell! :)

Here's a quick closie...

I whitewashed the background paper, which really suited the overall layout.

I've also got some fabric, doily trim, baker's twine, comic book paper and decorative tape on here... along with some other random goodies.

I'm sooo super stoked to now proudly announce that I am a Get Picky Design Team Member!!! Yay!!! You can check out my introductory post and announcement on the blog here!

I absolutely LOVE their inspiration-filled challenges! For those of you who aren't yet familiar with Get Picky, it's a creative challenge blog for multi-photo layouts! :)

Each month there are two challenges...

Sketch challenge:
A sketch challenge is revealed on the 15th of each month. You are free to interpret the sketch....(i.e flip, turn, etc) but it still needs to be recognisable, and it must contain multiple photos. :)

Inspiration Challenge:
An inspirational prompt is posted on the 30th of each month. These will vary from month to month and could include things like a photo prompt, a quotation, song lyric...etc. You are free to create your multiple photo layout using the prompt as inspiration. We would love to see the way the prompt inspires you to create...whether that is in the form of colour choice, design elements, journalling ideas...etc. The only criteria for this challenge is that you create a multiphoto layout.

Sounds like fun, hey? Well it is! You can check it out for yourselves here and be sure to become a follower if you're not already. :)

Here is my layout using this week's fabulously bright and pretty palette #76 over at the ever-colourful The Colour Room...

This palette certainly tickled my fancy! LOL. Here I've used one of the latest BasicGrey collections - Indie Bloom. It's just lovely. :)

I have also used Pumpkin Pink's Bubble Arrows from Stuff 2 Scrap on my layout - but in this instance I snipped off the bubble... LOL. Yes I have burst their bubble. That's one of the great things with chippie though - you can customise them so easily to suit your project. Here I was able to angle the cut so they finish at just the right angle. Sweet! :D

I used some Kraft cardstock just to neutralise the layout a tad so it's brightness isn't completely off the richter... ;)

Hello, hello, hello!

Here is my layout using Get Picky's Sketch #12 for September's Sketch Challenge...

LOVED the sketch! I've unearthed some October Afternoon goodness for this layout - their stuff rocks, hey! - OA would be in my Top 3, along with Sass and EP. Like lots more but they are my super duper faves. ;)

So yeah I've got a lovely piccie of me with my two girls plus two close ups of each gorgeous girl - which really ties in with the theme of my layout - that no matter where they go, they are always in my heart. They are growing up so fast!

I've done a bit of everything here - inking, misting, distressing, stamping, and I've also made some of my own embellishments...

These circles have been made from acetate and although the photo doesn't really do them justice - they are really funky and are a cool new technique I just discovered. I'll do a step by step next time I use them on a layout - in this instance I used them as fun elements on their own, but next time I will make lollipop flowers using them and something else! :)

A Primary Colour Challenges with Chantal! (That's me!)... Plus a RAK alert!!! :)

Hello scrappers! This month I've set the challenges over at Scrapbookit !

First up, the challenge is to create a layout using the three primary colours (plus a little bit of white,black,kraft is okay).

So here is my layout...

All the goodies used here on my layout are available now in store! I've used Core'dinations cardstock as my base, then trimmed approx an inch off around two sides of Echo Park's "Splash" - Whales patterned paper and swiped this with some Kaisercolour white paint.

I then trimmed my four photos to the same size as the Echo Park "Splash" Journalling cards that I'd cut out, then attached the photos and cards onto yellow Core'dinations cardstock, attached blue ribbon behind this "frame" by gently gathering it around all four sides and then I attached this onto the base.

I then decorated my outer frame edges as well with more ribbon - this time cut into small pieces. I then tied Ribtex Red Twine and Navy Twine into knots and a bow and stapled them onto my layout for a bit of texture.

I used the red scalloped border cut into threes from Echo Park's Splash Alpha Cardstock Sticker sheet (I love how they have that extra stuff! Such great value!) and blinged it up with Kaisercraft's Sparklets in Royal blue (oh my goodness - how gorgeous are these?!)...

I then added my cool A2Z Scraplets chippie title, used Cosmo Cricket's Tiny Type - Blue alpha's for my sub-title and journalling and I also used some brackets from BasicGrey's Olivia Micro Mono Alpha sticker sheet. :)

Second challenge is to create a card using the same primary colours! Fun, hey? Here's my take on the challenge...

I have again used Echo Park's Alpha Cardstock Sticker sheet not only for the alphas but for the sun's rays (there is a spot with words on it which was perfect for a sun) and I've used white and yellow Core'dinations cardstock, Echo Park's For The Record Table Cloth patterned paper (that's the red paper with the white polka-dots, which is actually the underside and I've used at least 6 sheets of this pp so far - using both sides!)

I've added a dash of bling using FWAB's Red Pearls (don't they make the cutest cheeks?!) and also I sprayed a tad of Tattered Angels Glimmermist - Coffee Shop onto my white cardstock.

I've "finished" off my card with some more Ribtex navy twine, I just stapled it on to the top left corner whilst the card was open. :)

The other is called "She's Fearless" and was created especially for the magazine - I invented a new technique "Book Print Blobs" - it's pretty cool fun! So That is on pages 112 & 113 - my first double page spread! Yay! :D

I've played along with Scrap the Girls this month. I couldn't resist this challenge;
use CLIPS...paperclips, bulldog clips, and clips... :)

I love clips!

Here is my take on the challenge...

Lots of clips here! Paper clips, bulldog clips, and a bone clip... what the? LOL. All the clips were from Officeworks except the bone clip - that was from Target! :D

Here's a closie of a selection of my clips. They have festooned Ann's Frame It from Stuff 2 Scrap. here I have cut up the chippie into a few pieces and tucked it above my photo matte.

Here's some of my cartoon cuties... :) I've also used an Echo Park alpha sticker sheet as my layout backing, Kaisercolour Yellow Deep paint (applied with corrugated cardboard), Sassafras Lass Woodgrain alpha stickers and My Mind's Eye "Yankee Doodles" speech bubble stamp - all from Scrapbookit.

Pearly Fun!!!

I created this layout using the latest colour combo over at Colour Combos Galore - the colours really "spoke" to me and I really "rolled" with the inspiration prompt too, hey! I loved the idea of the string of pearls in the inspiration photo and I had this broken pearl necklace which I was so stoked to use for this double layout about (aptly) my daughter's new pearly white teeth...

Heidi was so proud to brush her teeth all by herself for the first time and I'm so glad I got this on camera - as well as documenting the cute little details! I also was inspired by the old vintage books in the inspo photo, and here I've used a vintage children's book page - I could get used to using these! :D

I don't know if you can notice, but I actually made "bites" with my zig zag decorative scissors along the edges of the corrugated cardboard. ;P

The chippie is from Stuff 2 Scrap - I love Ann's Geo Borders! They are the coolest!!! You get two in a pack for only 2 bucks! Serious value! These two borders measure approx 2.4cm wide and 29.5cm long. They are designed by Ann Lederhose. Crazy 'bout them! Left them raw, and just cut one in half! :D

Chippie galore! :)

Here's my layout using colour palette #74 at The Colour Room. I've also used the sketch too (I love their sketches!). LOTSO chippie here, all from Stuff 2 Scrap's store.

Here I've used Leeann's Up, Up & Away Balloon - in the pack you also get two clouds - but I've already used them on another project LOL. So just have this one a lick of paint! :D

The rest of the chippie is left naked (aka RAW) - I really like the look of it against the cardboard's Kraft colour! I've used Leeann's Retro Grass Border (small) here - I've cut it in half to frame the bottom photo. The pack also includes a butterfly, flower and heart - which are all on there too. :)

My background is actually vintage cards cut out and glued onto glittery cardstock, then swiped with black paint! Fun!

Colour Combo fun! :)

Hello everyone! I simply couldn't pass by this wonderful colour combo and inspiration prompt over at Colour Combos Galore! I have used lots of vintage bookprint inspired by the inspiration photo and I have tried to recreate the feeling of a well-loved cookbook for my cooking themed double layout! I have used a paper bag, bakers twine, little teeny tiny post-it tags, bread tag and gingham ribbon to help tie-in this theme too. I have made a border for my layout by using decorative tape and die cuts stuck onto cardstock, then I've sewed over this randomly to attach everything and then finally I've cut this out into strips, attached it to my layout and outlined around it with black marker.

There's lots of random splatterings of dimensional craft paint on there too... love that stuff! :D

I just loved using Leeann's scallop border (large) from Stuff 2 Scrap. In one pack you get a set of 2 scalloped borders, each measuring approx 300mm in length and 50mm in height. One border has no holes and the other one is with holes (more holes can be placed by using either a crop a dile or anywhere hole punch). I stuck rhinestones in mine! Another funky chippie design by Leeann Pearce.

Thoroughly enjoyed this challenge and looking forward to doing the next one!

Hello! Firstly I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to all the lovely comments left on my blog. I've been BLOWN AWAY!!!

Okay, I'm back now! :D

Here is my layout for Purple Pumpkin's September challenge. It's a 123 challenge this month... fun!

So... yep, here it is...

So the challenge is to use 1 Lollipop/flower...

It's from Purple Pumpkin... cute huh? 2 Doillies (I used hot pink ones on the top right and middle left of my layout.) 3 Buttons (one mini button on each chipboard leaf).

Here's a closie of my owl...

I've used Leeann's Build an Owl from Stuff 2 Scrap - Designed by Leeann Pearce. Packaged in one piece this Owl and Tree/Branch can be pushed out of the chipboard frame and 'built', the leftover chipboard can then be used as a mask for drawing, painting or spraying with glimmermist. I first painted my owl and tree, then I covered it's wings with pp, cut out circles for it's eyes (the larger circle was cut out with zig-zag decorative scissors), for it's tummy I cut out the pp to size and before attaching it to the chippie, I gave it an eyelet treatment. :D I then stuck all the bits together once dry, added googly eyes, buttons to the leaves, a felt beak :) and doodled around the edges and outlines of the chippie. Hoot!

Last closie...

I've attached my title on top of a part of Ann's Geo Corners from Stuff 2 Scrap - Designed by Ann Lederhose. The chipboard card you get actually measures approx 16cm x 21cm and features the large Geo Corners (not used on this layout - will use soon!). You also get 2 ATC cards - one which can be used as a journal block,the other as an atc card. There are also plenty extra circles to accessorize and once you pop out the corners you can even use what is left as a great looking frame (which is what I used on my layout - I've used one and a half ATC cards).

I've used the new line of patterned papers from BasicGrey here called "Indie Bloom" - I actually won the whole collection on their blog! I love this bright collection! This is my first layout using it (I just received it yesterday!). I have been on a bit of a winning streak actually. I also won over at ARTastic for last month and Sketchy Thursdays for last week! Yay! :D

It's time to Get Picky!

I've played along again at Get Picky, for their inspiration challenge #11. Here is my layout, "Serial Tree Hugger" :)

Yes, I love trees! :D

Here is the image that I took inspiration from...

I've taken many elements from this image for my inspiration; including the colour yellow (with a hint of orange in there too), the grid pattern (created by sticking Sassafras Lass cards all over cardstock in a grid pattern to create an interesting background), and I was inspired by the overall botannical vibe too - hence the subject of my layout. :)

Here's a closie too...

The chippie tree is from Stuff 2 Scrap and here I have outlined the tree onto the back of some cheery OA pp, turned it over and used a gel pen to copy the original design which was already on the chippie (which is about to be covered up), glued on the pp, cut the trunk to tuck on either side of the photo so it looks l o n g, then once attached to my layout I glued little heart beads where the hearts were drawn and stuck little bits of Green Tara twine into each hole as stems (and glued them into place).

Ta-dah!!! My love for trees has now been documented! :D

Hello! This is my layout for Bird is the Word's new challenge word "Memory". So without further ado, here is my layout...

And yes, that's me. :) The journalling reads;
This photo was taken in Tokyo, Japan. It was one of the many photoshoots that I had in my fun modelling career. Of all the shoots, this particular one was the most memorable... for the funniest of reasons! As I lay here on the vine-laden soil, gigantic scary and foreign-looking bugs crawled all around me! I didn't like it one bit... but I kept my pose like there was nothing at all wrong. How professional!
LOL :)

So yep, I got pretty excited on this page... I've got an old necklace on the top left corner, flowers (which is amazing for me!), We R Memory Keepers "Yankee Doodles" pp (available from Scrapbookit), BasicGrey transparencies, Tim Holtz ideaology tape, and LOTS of paint... HEAPS. :)

Hey there! If you are looking for a fun and bright challenge this month, well From Screen 2 Scrap has a real li'l ripper of a challenge for you!

Here is my layout inspired by the movie poster for the recent computer-animated film, "Rio"...

My layout is aptly called "Cheeky" :) And here is the movie poster...

Can you see the similarities? LOL!

I've included all the criteria here - 1. One word title "Cheeky", 2. Use Blue, Yellow and Red cardstock - I've a blue base there (albeit covered with flowers - but you can just see it peeking through!!), 3. Add a bird - I've got a gorgeous little bird from the Chip Chop Shop there... "tweet!" ;).

I've also been inspired by the angles of the kite (see the music paper on my layout) and the addition of white on the layout (ditto... about the music paper).

Looking forward to seeing some bright entries this month!

The sketch can be rotated, flipped or mix it up a little, as long as it is recognisable...

And here's the extra criteria...

1. Butterfly or Butterflies
2. Some stitching (hand or machine)
3. Whist Stuff 2 Scrap chipboard would be better - any chipboard is acceptable :)

Here is my CT example layout...

I've followed the sketch fairly closely (the circle has been done with paint if you look closely) and I've also got all the extra criteria there - I hand-drew butterflies and cut them out (big massive ones :) ), hand-stitched my own trim flower on the bottom right and my Stuff 2 Scrap chippie is Ann's celtic heart. The heart was actually painted on the front but I decided I liked the crappy underside with the random over-paint on it LOL!

I'd love to see you play along this month - there is a Stuff 2 Scrap chippie prize pack up for grabs, and also Rachael is having an extra giveway too if you play along. So double the chances to win... AGAIN! Sweet! :D

Mini Cuteness! :)

Hello! Here is my layout, "Mini Explorer" using this week's sketch (8.25) over at Sketchy Thursdays! I actually managed to get my head around the circles (not that I've anything against circles, but they are outta my comfort zone) and I'm really happy I managed to suck it up and give it a go! I've used lots of BasicGrey pps here, from Scrapbookit. I've used lots of journalling tags on cardstock and rolled with the circles and sewed rings around my page in zig zag stitch...

This layout was extra fun to make - I think it was the sketch and the photos were just perfect for it. The original sketch has space for 3 photos but I altered it to include 4 because I wanted to include that super-cute long shot of Heidi too. This mini photo is in place of one of the embellishments on the sketch and I've cut a very thin spiral strip out of BasicGrey pp and just "nested" it along with some string. :) It really seems to give a sense of depth (without going total 3D - which would obviously give depth! :D )

And did you spy that shrubbery on the left hand side (how can you miss it, LOL) well that is courtesy of a 4 buck broom from Bunnings. He he he. I liked that broom! :D

Hello! Here is my page using this week's colour palette (#73) over at The Colour Room...

LOVED this palette! Right up my alley. I have made my own background with an inkpad and made my own embellishments by cartooning onto some cuties onto patterned paper and attaching goggle eyes. :)

So here we have a juicy orange and a slice of lime on the menu!

I'm glad I got to capture these cute casual candid shots of Heidi.

Howdy! Here's my take on Palette #72 over at The Colour Room...

I loved the palette (although it was quite a challenge for me) and the sketch provided was as awesome as usual so I used that too!

I enjoyed using this unusual palette, hey. I would of never thought of combining these colours together. I've got some Chip Chop Shop goodies on here (doiley trim, apple and journalling square) which is now open for business after a short break.

I've done some inking, distressing and painting here (the purple paper has been handpainted in acrylics).

"I so love" these challenges... :)

Hey I've played along again at Bird is the Word... I could get used to this! :)

This month, the challenge is to create a project using the word LOVE in your titling or journaling. First thing that came to mind was the way my daughter says "I love you" everyday to me... "Mum - I SO love you". It's so cute and through this challenge, I have captured this memory - which I may not of! So thanks BITW! :D

Here is my layout...

I've been cartooning again... LOL. I have drawn the toast and toaster on paper and they actually have machine stitching on them, as well as paper piecing and one goggle eye (the toast is winking while the toaster is squinting... so you see (excuse the pun) - never fear if you have an odd goggle eye out! The odd eye needn't be relegated to that future pirate layout or monster/alien layout even. Just wink it! ;)

Okay seriously now - I also made that cute popsicle out of felt and popsticks. The cupcake is from My Little Bit of Whimsy and the bread tag is from Tip Top ;)

The yellow photo matte is actually cardstock spraypainted with black paint through an old chipboard alpha backing, which = a funky stencil.

I made the background Sassafras Lass paper less "loud" but sticking some cut out vintage book paper squares on there in a grid pattern.

Needless to say (but saying it anyway) that I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge!

This is my take on Sketchy Thursday's 8.18 sketch. Loved the simplicity and layout on this one so I didn't change much. Because the pics are already so hypo I scaled down on the embellies and layers quite a bit, hey.

I like the "citrusy" kinda colours I used here - nice and fresh for a change... and I am a bit of a corrugated cardboard fan - especially the thin coloured style ones that you can just buy at any craft shop or Kmart etc. :D

I did the old "stamp onto transparency trick" on this layout (top right corner) - very handy when the texture doesn't allow for a nice crisp image!

TGIF hey! Here's a layout I created for Get Picky's August Sketch Challenge #11. This sketch was so fun to use! It's really unique too - I love it! The sketch is in actual fact based on one of GP's talented designer's layouts. Carol Monson inspired this sketch. :)

So here I've stuck really close to the sketch (close for me), except for mainly using landscape photos instead of portrait ones. I really like how it turned out.

Lots and lots of layering here. Some handmade goodies from The Chip Chop Shop and Purple Pumpkin as well as some papers from Reminisce, October Afternoon and Sassafras Lass.

I made a feature out of my title by using black Thicker alphas on white corrugated cardboard, cutting around this and making a face from Thicker full stops, commas and a button. LOL. Way too much fun, hey!!

Here is my layout for ARTastic's August Challenge. The inspiration for this challenge has come from the painting, "The Playing Claude Renoir" by Auguste Renoir, plus all the extra criteria has been included; 1. Ribbon (see that b&w stripey number?) 2. Photo of a child playing (Heidi's playing with Thomas the Tank here) :) 3. Paint or create your own background (I have covered a sheet of cardstock completely with random comic book pages, then I stuck on top of that an entire used Sassafras Lass die-cut sticker sheet).

This layout is the result of playing along with Purple Pumpkin's monthly sketch challenge for August. Really liked this sketch - nice and simple with lots of room for a li'l bit of different interpretation. ;)

Did you spy that super cute and spritely yearling Purple Pumpkin button? I wound some string around it to make it stand out just that li'l bit more (the string was actually upcycled from a clothing hang tag). The die-cut is from Grace Taylor - I got this cool assorted random pack of die cuts at Big W.

Lovin' Leeann's Flame Border chippie from Stuff 2 Scrap. Those wheels are really burnin' rubber! Also check out what I did with one piece of "Ann's Story Block #2 - Stars"...

I cut it up and used one third under my title, disected the nested stars and stuck them down the page. The other piece is underneath my journalling block. All pieces have just a small bit of white paint on them, just as a li'l highlight. :)

I have used Core'dinations cardstock, AC Thickers and We R Memory Keepers' "Yankee Doodles" patterned die-cut paper, which are all available from Scrapbookit's store now.

In scrappy news, I have a layout in Scrapbooking Memories' current issue - just picked up a copy the other day... my layout is call "No Potato"... he he he! :)

Also I got a HM over at Get Picky the other day so that was super cool - my third HM there! So yeah, pretty stoked about that!

This is a wonderfully easy sketch to work with and I love scrapping multiple photos on a page - I find it really helps "tell" the story... along with a nice block of journalling! :D

All my papers & embellishments are available in store now at Scrapbookit. Jo stocks all the best stuff!! I've used lots of products from the We R Memory Keepers' "Yankee Doodles" range - they are so bold and funky... LOVE this range!!! Check out all their patterned papers here.

Did you spy that super-cute and funky speech bubble at the top right of my layout? Well it's actually a stamp and I've already used it on quite a few layouts! Great for journalling! It's called We R Memory Keepers "Yankee Doodles" Statement Box Stamp and for only $1.80... it's a screamin' bargain!! :O

The card challenge is to create a Father's Day card and here is what I created...

More Yankee Doodles on top of some Core'dinations Cardstock and I've painted my own sky with watercolour paints. So yeah, you can either use the sketch for your layout or make a Father's Day card and you'll be in the running for a wonderful RAK from the DT girls or a gift voucher at Scrapbookit! I couldn't resist playing along with one of the super-fun birthday challenges over at From Screen 2 Scrap's August Birthday Celebrations (FS2S turns 2 this month!).

This page is for Challenge no. 3 where you are to take inspiration from the movie poster "13 going on 30" aka in Australia "Suddenly 30"...

I think this poster is so cute, so other than being inspired by the general "cuteness" factor of it, I was also inspired by the white background, the bubblegum bubble and dots. I included all of the criteria too; Polka dots - 3 of the main pp's, some of the alphas and the fabric Purple Pumpkin button have polka dots; My title has the number 8 in it; and I've made my page very girly with pink, bling, froth and bubbles! You can see this challenge and all the others (including my group's challenge poster - "Marie Antoinette" here) :D
